But C’mon the original idea of God’s plan of countless adventures and pitfalls is a bit more exciting than God having no plan whatsoever right?
Didn’t you say you “totally agree?” Having no plan is much more exciting. You never know when you’ll get smashed by an asteroid or eaten by a band of intelligent rats.
The first one made sense. The second one? Eh, not so much.
What I mean is that God has a plan for all of us, filled with both pitfalls and achievements, but his plan depends upon our own determination. We view our future’s timeline as easy and accessible, then God comes in and replaces it with a more exciting but demanding one. That keeps life interesting.
(In full disclosure: I am a devout Muslim :) )
