The Daily Post was kind enough to ask me for an interview and get my take as a humor expert but just I used it as a platform to engage in hate speak against my least favorite comic strip character of all time. Read it all here:
Make ‘Em Laugh: Five Funny Favorites on the Art of Humor Writing.
Now that I’ve got third-party verification that I have a handle on humor, I just need to figure out the cosmos and the super natural. Then I’ll be all set for whatever comes at me.
Glad to see that “the party of the third party” is appreciating the humor you share here!
And, you’re right, Cathy is NOT a funny comic strip. Dilbert is a funny comic strip. My favorite Dilbert strip of all time (of the ones I stumbled across):

Calvin and Hobbes is funny too . . . especially his snow men:

Dilbert was never funny to me until I worked in an office. Then it became really funny to me. They love that pregnant pause in that strip though. It’s their go to, but it always works.
I do think I am funny as hell in person but getting me to the page as my funny self is painfully hard. Maybe I could make fun of my pain over trying to be funny.
Humour is a many splendoured thing: What is funny to one person is a banana skin accident to another.
Your humour is unique and often amusing, so is it any wonder you are appreciated??? :)
God Bless!
Prenin.
I suppose you’re right. I should try and be more cocky.
Thanks, Prenin.
I totally agree. I never could stand Kathy. Have you done any posts further berating her because I’d love to read them. Congrats on being Daily Pressed. They do like pressing around here. :D
I did this one. https://you-monsters-are-people.com/2011/05/02/creators-and-creations-wherefore-art-thou/
It isn’t about Cathy but I do talk about other mainstream comics that I have historically liked but sometimes feel like they’re one long note. I think if I had included Cathy, I would have just cut my wrist over a piece of paper.
I always knew you were funny. It’s about time someone else realized it, too.
Eventually I’m hoping to get a medal.
I would like to stand beside you when you do as I was one of your fans and that should be reason enough.
Hahahahaha, those ghosts sure are gross! Imagine one coming out of your ear…ugh. Congrats on being featured at TDP! ;)
I have been on a ghost kick lately.
Not that you needed validation but it’s nice to have, just the same.
Yeah it never hurts to hear it from somebody else. I think they’re doing a follow up post today at some point.
Congrats on scoring an interview! I read your blog whenever I get the chance.
Found your blog via The Daily Post. They’re right, you are funny.
Yeah, they nailed it.
Your blog is very funny!! Makes me laugh!
